The Easton Stealth Speed 95 baseball bat is fine choice for Adult players. Armed with lightness, but not at the expense of technology, this bat performed like a power hitter’s favorite weapon during our test run.
We really like Easton’s Stealth line of bats. Some say they specialize in youth baseball bats too much, and this causes them to lose a bit of market share in the adult market. That may be so, but when you take a look at all of their different product lines in the senior and adult lines alone, you might find it hard to have a similar opinion to those doubters.
But, you want hard evidence. So, as with any other bat, we took the new Easton Stealth Speed 95 BSS2 out on our own little test drive. We strapped on our batting gloves, and each took a crack at the batter’s box, and here’s what we came up with.
The Run Down
As alluded to earlier, we felt like big time juicers when we were wielding this bat. Granted, a few of us were having our off days at the plate, but even so – it’s almost as if this bat made up entirely for our obvious flaws in our swings.
This may be the best bat we’ve tried in 2010. OK, so have I raved too much about this one bat too much yet? After all, there are hundreds of other bats that we still need to cover. Lets not put all of our eggs into one, um, baseball bat, right?
My apologies for the informal nature of this review; I’ll get down to the details you really want to know about the Easton Stealth Speed 95 now.
This bat has an exceptionally light MOI, coming in at a rating of 80. Most all of Easton’s stealth line are built with such precise technology that the materials in the bats can only be found where they fundamentally should be found. In layman’s terms, you’re getting a high performance baseball bat that performs exactly like it sounds – at a high rate of performance.
The light MOI produced a noticeably increased swing speed for all 4 of us. It took us a while to get used to, but let’s just say it was worth the adjustment. After an average of about 15 pitches, we all found we were able to get around on pitches and hit the ball solidly fairly consistently, without many other adjustments needed.
Technical Details
The BESR certified barrel measurement comes in at 2 and 5/8ths inches. The Easton Stealth Speed 95 is an IMX composite baseball bat, and has a VRS rating of 95.
The grip feels high quality, wrapped with the popular Pro-Tack grip material.
The size we tested and discussed in this review was the 33” bat, which weighs approximately 30 ounces. Other sizes available are the 31”, the 33”, and the 34”, with weights coming in at 28 ounces, 30 ounces, and 31 ounces, respectively.
Verdict
As if you couldn’t tell, we really like this bat. If you’re an adult player, an investment in this bat will look really good on the field. Be prepared for a readjustment period of 15-20 pitches, as you will likely find yourself throwing your body into pitches due to the Easton Stealth Speed 95 weight technology.
